The weather is finally giving me the chills in Los Angeles! When the skies and cloudy and I can pull out my heavy coats and scarves… I know the holidays are coming and I’m at my happiest! I prefer a winter chill to a sweaty forehead any day!

My relationship with Autumn weather in Los Angeles is a love/hate one. Usually the days consist of freezing mornings and hot afternoons. As you can probably predict, it causes a confusing outfit dilemma. I want to wear shorts for the afternoon but don’t want those goosebumps in the morning. Well, I can’t complain too much. Some cold weather is better than hot weather every day! This is an outfit I wore over the weekend with a frilly top I got long ago and never featured on my blog. I’m always obsessed with layer-able items since they add really great dimension to an outfit.

Officer Jenny Costume
I handmade my Halloween costume this year! After much stress, blood, and tears I finally ended up with this gem. Do you recognize me? I’m Officer Jenny from Pokemon! I used to watch Pokemon when I was in elementary school and this costume made me really nostalgic. I was really happy with the way my whole outfit came together! Everyone is really astounded that I hand made it so I couldn’t be more proud! t should’ve made the hat a bit shorter but other than that, ba-da-bing ba-da-boom! ;)

The most carefully coordinated outfits always have the sense of “why didn’t I think to do that?” Sometimes with patterns, sometimes with colors, sometimes with textures. I love creating intricate color palettes with my outfits. This outfit seems to first appear as only a combination of dark turquoise with maroon. But if you look deeper you’ll see my the colors you find in my vest, my belt, my headband, and my handmade brooch. All coming together like a harmonious tune.

Choies recently contacted me about being sponsored and I jumped at the chance! I love all their stuff and shipping was incredibly quick! They have a great section on two piece suits and I combed through it looking for my favorite ones. Matching sets are incredibly versatile. They look great together and function as separate pieces at the same time. Two for the price of one? Can’t ask for more! This two piece set is so chic and incredibly comfy! So soft, I feel like I’m wearing pillows!

My outfit is a little trendy, a little preppy, and a little Charlie Chaplin today. Seems like I’m wearing black and white more often nowadays. Back when I was blonde I refused to wear black because it felt like it didn’t complement my hair, haha how silly I was… black matches everything! Perhaps that’s why New Yorkers are obsessed with it. Black is back!!

We had a cold front in LA last week (it actually rained!) and as a consequence I think a cold is going around. Everyone at my office including myself has the sniffles. I think I’m getting worse =(
I have a couple outfits to catch up with so keep posted! This first one is a pretty casual one with some great vintage pieces. I don’t wear vintage nearly enough anymore.

Vampires Don’t Wear Polka Dots
Who used to read the Baily School Kids books? I was obsessed with them as a kid! Recognize the title of this post? One of my favorites. I used to remember how accomplished I’d feel reading a 60 pages book. Haha, when you’re 7 that’s a big deal. Anyway, This is the most work-chic outfit I’ve worn in awhile. It seems like work is consuming me lately. Not regular work, but work outside of work! Recently I released more items in my shop Glitter Bandits. Check it out if you wish!

Yearning for the Breeze
Finally the heat wave here in LA is calming down! The shade is actually… cool and sometimes even chilly! Really I’m just counting down the days until fall so I had to throw on an outfit to reflect that. Call it my “rain dance” outfit.

Los Angeles always gets the crazier heat waves during (what I thought was) the beginning of fall. Although the sun is out and I’m sweating my face off, I don’t have a right to complain because everyone is always telling me how they love LA weather. So i’ll suffer through it—in style! So many people have done sunflower prints but I’m really loving American Apparel’s line right now. Paired with a vintage top (also from AA), these patterns seems to mix well together. Perfect for a stroll in this heat.
