This past weekend my boyfriend and I went to go see the Calder exhibition at LACMA because I absolutely looovveeee his work. Unfortunately there was no photography allowed but if any of you are locals, you MUST see it! It was absolutely fantastic! Another exhibition we stopped by was the DVF “Journey of a Dress” exhibition. It was a wonderful exhibition filled with pictures, videos, crazy amounts of dresses (obviously) and walls covered in amazing colors & patterns. I had to take a photo against everything so I apologize for the photo spam, hehe. Now I wish I had snakeskin walls!
He’s a Keeper
You know you’re boyfriend’s a keeper when he agrees to wakeup early to go to Target with you for a “serious” shopping mission. Incase any of you missed it, Target did a collaboration with Peter Pilotto which released February 9th. Checkout the whole lookbook Here. So we planned to go to the Target we thought would be the least crowded, and thankfully it wasn’t horrible… BUT there were some definite catty stares going around. There were girls eyeing the last piece of their size being snatched & girls hoarding multiple items at a time. Nonetheless my mission was successful and I can only be thankful to my lovely boyfriend! Today I’m wearing one of my favorite pieces from the collection, a signature Pillotto printed dress, belt included!

Tie-Dye Valentine / GlitterBandits.com
Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day! Some people hate it, some people love it, some people just don’t give a crap. Nonetheless, it’s still a fun day to dress up for despite being single or not. Put on those heart prints and bubble pink outfits!
This is actually a dress I made myself for my shop Glitter Bandits. If you’re interested in it you can GET IT HERE. The dress has a cool holographic print of Anime Eyes (cute!) and a tie-dyed double layered fabric. A simple 1 step outfit with a few accessories and I’m ready to go in no time! It’s the perfect weird romantic outfit I’d wear for Valentin’es Day. I guess I’m not the type to dress for my boyfriend; I dress for myself (even on a couple’s day! haha).

I Got My Eyes On You
I love the pop of neon colors. The neon green of my headscarf match the silly pink flamingos on my necklace. This croptop is actually something I got last year when I was in Tokyo, Japan but ironically their shop is here! Clumsy Cat! They have some cool stuff, so check them out. The jacket is also from Japan from the cutest little shop in Shibuya. It says “Boys” on the back in ruffles! The sheer skirt is one of my most coveted pieces from American Apparel. Although they still make these skirts, they don’t in this specific color and I was hunting for it forever! Finally luck was on my side one day at the AA flea market and I snatched it (at a deal!) Don’t worry, I’m wearing nude shorts underneathe. I notice people are always trying to figure that out while they see me pass on the streets, haha.
Anyway, I’m feeling kinda crappy today because of a cold of some sort I caught over the weekend. The weather is warming up again SoCal (yay! but also boo cause I love cold weather)

Being Unique for Valentine’s Day - Uncommon Goods
Valentine’s Day is creeping up on us and people are pulling out their wallets to drop on flowers and chocolates again! Personally though, I’m not really a fan of flowers and chocolates ‘cause it’s really just the same old same old. Usually when I’m thinking of great gifts for christmas, birthdays, and gift-giving days like Valentine’s Day, I google something like “unique gifts for boyfriends.” There was always a website that came up when I did that, Uncommon Goods. To my great disbelief and happiness, they contacted me about reviewing one of their products! Could I have raised my hand up any faster shouting “YES!”? Probably not.
Have you heard of Uncommon Goods before? I thought they were just a cool online shop for buying unique gifts for my friends, but they’re really a whole lot more. Most of the products they carry are made right here in the good ole USA (you know I’m all about that!). One-third of their collection uses recycled/upcycled materials!
In fact, the item I chose to review was made of an old wine bottle. Can you guess what it is? A terranium!!
Right out of the box, this is what it looks like! The box I received said that $1 of every order is donated to charity… sweet!! I patted myself on the shoulder a bit, haha.
What it came with + easy instructions!
I built my terranium in a couple minutes and it’s gunna hang out at my studio window sill for awhile. When I see sprouts, I’m gunna post an update so you can see how it turns out!
Bottom line is, if I received something awesome like this terranium for Valetine’s Day instead of flowers and chocolates, I’d be wayyyy more excited! Wouldn’t you? If my boyfriend is reading this.. HINT HINT ;) hahahaha. Check out Uncommon Good’s Valentine’s Gift Ideas here for your sweetheart’s gift!
The best thing about buying from Uncommon Goods is that you know you’re supporting a B Corporation that supports Non-profits such as RAINN, American Forests, Women for Women International, and City Harvest.
Until next time…!
Three Broad Strokes
Even though a bow tie and shorts make me look like a little school boy, I’ve always gotten the impression it was in a good way. Haha. Plus with these lovely pastel colors, some frilly socks , and heels, I think it’s feminine enough. Nothing screams femininity like a pink satin bow… although the boys who can pull of pink satin bows are my favorite kind of boys ;)
Everything from American Apparel <3
Thank goodness for cooler days and fuzzy coats. I just threw on a quick outfit that’s simple but chic. This beautiful Topshop coat came with a matching skirt! I’m in love with matching sets. Some tousled hair and heels and I’m out the door.

I love the mix of urban and chic… what I mean to say is I love taking clothes I would wear to a nice dinner party and mixing it with those I’d just wear everyday—streetwear. The funny thing is the top and pants I’m wearing actually could be very chic paired with other items, but together they make this perfect urban silhouette. The pants become more like sweatpants (because of their bagginess) and the top is a trendy crop top. Paired with a beanie and sneakers, my outfit has completely crossed over. But with a fancy necklace and a smart purse, it makes the perfect clashing combination.

I Come in Peace
This amazing bright green skirt has been sitting on my rack dying to be worn. The color reminds me of an alien invasion! The polka dot top adds some busyness so prevent a colorblock look (not that colorblocking is a bad thing). The pink bandana adds a complementary color to the entire look… and actually the pink, green, and black together is like the perfect color scheme of my favorite food: a watermelon.

The thing about winter in Southern California is that we still have 80 degree days. So yes, I’m donning a sleeveless semi-belly-showing dress. I actually love this dress because it’s seemingly simple but incredibly well-made and has one of those suede-silk textures. I’m not usually this casual looking am I? How do I look in neutrals? =)
