Is purple not really my color? I think I accidentally gothed myself out with this mesh dress-turned-top. Oh well! Mesh, chiffon, and anything see-through is becoming more and more a staple in everyone’s wardrobe. Will the trend ever die down? I hope not!

I don’t think I realized how obsessed I’d be with my Madrid Wool Hat from Nasty Gal. I feel like I could pull of my pajamas as long as I have this hat on. Oh but I don’t want it to outshine these amazing shorts—YES that’s chain fringe, and it’s wonderful! (and maybe a little too fun to play with…) I know you’re thinking it must have cost me a fortune, but the most delightful thing is, I got them for free at the Iron Fist Sample sale while volunteering! Ahhhhh! And don’t clothes feel so much better when you haven’t paid a penny for it? I can’t thank Michelle enough for letting me volunteer! <3 The sequined-cross blouse I snagged during Cyber Monday on Nasty Gal, which is the best day invented since Christmas. Ah, deals!

Yesterday was Tavi from “Style Rookie“‘s party for Rookie Magazine’s 1st Yearbook at Space 15 Twenty! Although it was incredibly chilly (yay for actually fall weather in LA!) today I decided to finally put on my little black dress for the party. This amazing skater dress is definitely more revealing than I’m usually comfortable with wearing but I tried it on at Topshop when I was in NY this past June and fell in love! I’ve been waiting for the right occasion to wear it (definitely not at work, haha!). Oh and notice these ombre tights? I know, they’re amazinnnggg!!! I actually had someone ask me where I got them =)

Earlier in the day my boyfriend and I went to the Stanley Kubrick exhibit at LACMA and it was absolutely amazing!! If you are a fan of Kubrick and in the LA area, I highly suggest you see it! The following is a photo of some costumes Vogue designed for Kubrick’s “2001: A Space Odyssey”. Kubrick wanted everything in his movie to be designed so that it would be plausible to exist in the time era of the movie, hence Vogue designed the costumes. Pretty amazing stuff!

Kleur was at the Rookie Event tonight as well! They do amazingggg nail designs, but alas I didn’t feel like shelling out the moolah to get my nails done. One day though, one day!!

I really need to find myself a great belt for days when I feel a little more grunge. A trip to Hot Topic perhaps? (my favorite childhood shop! haha) But anyway, I’m loving my leopard print crop top. The fabric is really great quality and although you can’t tell in these photos, the neckline is faux leather. Sometimes it’s all in the details. Oh, and say hello to walkable black booties! HELLO!!!! =)

Hello everyone! Sorry for the hiatus, it’s been a crazy week or two but I promise I’m getting back into the swing of things! I wanted to start off this week with my favorite fashion trend: pattern mixing! I think the trick with pattern mixing is to pay attention to the negative/positive space that the patterns you’re wearing have. For instance, if my blouse had a busier b&w pattern, it would appear more grey and the entire look would be different! What do you think, are you a fan of pattern mixing?

Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads out there! Personally I think I have the best dad in the world, but you’re allowed to disagree ;)

So yesterday I attended a graduation for my friends at UCLA! Congratulations to UCLA Design Media Art’s Class of 2012, and also everyone else who is graduating this year! I wanted to dress nicely for the occasion but I think I accidentally went toward rebel attire, Motorcycle Chic as I call it. =) I think I was just so excited to try on some of my new jewelry. As you can see, I piled on 4 necklaces. I love the different textures and layers that all these necklaces create! Surprisingly it’s a little tough to find the right lengths to layer but when done right, it makes a simple outfit, like this black dress, become amazing!

The weather is so flip floppy in Los Angeles during Spring. Was a pretty gloomy day all day and it’s expected to rain tomorrow! Today I wore a pretty casual outfit, sportin’ my favorite gothic lipstick from NARS. I got this slouchy dress on sale I think two years ago… still one of my favorites. You rarely see the low waistline nowadays… reminiscent of the good ole flapper days! I usually wear this look on hot days but since it was chili, I wore it with my trusty black blazer!
