Floral Overalls
I had two people ask me if I tattooed or painted my legs today! In reality they’re nude stockings with cool velvety shapes on them. Tattoo tights have been incredibly popular in Japanese street fashion so I picked up a few pairs in Harajuku. I have a feeling the rest of the world is going to catch up soon with this trend and I’m ready! The floral overalls I’m wearing were so cute on the hanger I couldn’t resist! I’m still looking for a regular ole denim pair to join in on all the overall fun but instead of overspending, I’m obstinate about thrifting a pair. I’m excited that overalls are in again! They were the only thing I would wear as a kid!

Holy Fringe!
I don’t think I realized how obsessed I’d be with my Madrid Wool Hat from Nasty Gal. I feel like I could pull of my pajamas as long as I have this hat on. Oh but I don’t want it to outshine these amazing shorts—YES that’s chain fringe, and it’s wonderful! (and maybe a little too fun to play with…) I know you’re thinking it must have cost me a fortune, but the most delightful thing is, I got them for free at the Iron Fist Sample sale while volunteering! Ahhhhh! And don’t clothes feel so much better when you haven’t paid a penny for it? I can’t thank Michelle enough for letting me volunteer! <3 The sequined-cross blouse I snagged during Cyber Monday on Nasty Gal, which is the best day invented since Christmas. Ah, deals!

Muppet of a (Wo)man
A few weeks ago I volunteered at an Iron Fist Clothing sample sale and it was simply amazing!! Perhaps I’m just behind on the times, but I hadn’t heard of Iron First before this… afterward I was in love. Everything at the sample sale was $10 and under!! But the greatest thing? As a volunteer I got $100 in free merchandise, so that meant at least 10 amazing items! One of which was this amazing fur coat. I know some of you hate it, and in fact my boyfriend says it reminds him of a muppet… but I’m in love with it! It’s like one of those pieces you wouldn’t initially think to buy but seeing it on someone cool like Gwen Stefani would make you think otherwise. I’m no Gwen Stefani, not even close, but I can aspire to be her, right? Should’ve put on a Bindi.

Back to the Start
There was a spike in temperature in LA yesterday, 81 degrees! Not horrible but enough to put on some shorts with a sweater for just-in-case. It’s been awhile since I’ve worn this beautiful knit cardigan. I love the mix of colors in it and I wish I had more items that were the colors of each of the flowers! The key to coordinating with such a colorful piece is making sure you reiterate the colors in it. In this case, I’ve got my lavender shorts, turquoise hair scarf, and orange JC Heels. If you look at each item individually, it’s interesting how your eye is drawn back to that same color back in the cardigan. O__O

Vintage Daze
After some pleading and some compromising, my boyfriend has agreed to take my outfit photos in the morning since I can’t do them after work anymore. Take that, daylight savings! Ah, I feel so lucky to have such an understanding bf! =)
So lately I’ve been noticing how nice vintage colors (coral, olive, off-white, etc.) look against this beige wall I always take my pictures in front of. It’s like colors in a cute painting you find in a small mom & pop vintage shop. So I decided to go for a vintage look today. I’ve worn this floral print a bunch but always sort of dressed it up a bit (especially the blazer I have.) I still feel like I scored big time with this three-piece floral set (shirt, blazer, & skirt) that I found at Goodwill for $9.99! Talk about fashion on a budget!

Hope I Don’t Get Hairballs
Happy belated Halloween everyone! I literally just had these cat ears sitting on my desk (from a cat birthday party I went to, hehe) and did a last minute outfit for work. I don’t think it turned out too bad, what about you? Did everyone have a fun Halloween? I had a pretty mellow one with my boyfriend watching scary movies at home =)

MTV Style Blogger of the Week
Hey guys, I just found out I was featured as one of MTV’s Style bloggers of the week! I feel giggley like a kid going trick-or-treating! hehe. Thank you MTV and to all my followers <3
AA Halloween Contest
So while I wait for my website to backup on Thursday I’ll still be posting to my Lookbook and Chictopia if you guys wanna follow me there =) Otherwise I’ll be sure to post all my backlogged outfits ASAP. The free upload things totally screw with the quality/saturation of my photos and it bugs me too much.
So have you guys seen some of the American Apparel Halloween Contest entries this year? Some of them are super creative! These are just a few I really liked.
Jack & Meg White (from the White Stripes) so goooodd!!!

The dancing girls from Emoji HAHAHAHAHAHAHA one of my favorite emojis too!!!!

A super cute Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum! ahhh I must do this with someone one day! =)

Everyone should enter! There’s a Lookbook one going on as well and you don’t need to wear anything from AA at all!
I wanna see your guys’ costumes!!!
Where the Wind Blows
The winds have finally started today and my hair was blowing everywhere with my car windows rolled down. As much as I enjoy a cool breeze, crazy winds definitely equal bad hair days so thankfully being in an office means I can let my hair loose.
I decided to keep it pretty casual today. The trick with casual day wear that look more put together than they actually are is really in the colors. Especially in autumn, greens, yellows, and browns feel so seasonal and fun! But to breakup the solid colored clothing, I added in some stripes and I’m set to go!

All Choked Up
I really need to find myself a great belt for days when I feel a little more grunge. A trip to Hot Topic perhaps? (my favorite childhood shop! haha) But anyway, I’m loving my leopard print crop top. The fabric is really great quality and although you can’t tell in these photos, the neckline is faux leather. Sometimes it’s all in the details. Oh, and say hello to walkable black booties! HELLO!!!! =)
