Shed Some Skin

Talk about heat wave! These are the days when I question weather or not Southern California supposedly has “perfect weather.” I’d rather travel through freezing cold Europe again than spend a day walking in the heat!  ’Tis the perfect day to wear a crop top and my comfy snakeskin pants! I love that these pants have a bit of green in them so that pairing it with a light chiffon shirt really adds a bit of a color to what could be an all-nude/brown outfit.

Cat in the Hat

I’ve been wanting to don this cute cat ear hat for the blog since I got it for Christmas from my best friend Emily! It’s super adorable and matches a simple vintage look like the one I’m donning today =)

Rock of Ages

Faux fur coats of all different colors are my newest obsession. I wish I could bring them all on my trip since I know I’ll be freezing my butt of in Europe! Boy did I take advantage of Nasty Gal’s Cyber Monday Sale with this coat… I think it’s my favorite coat as of today! I feel like I belong in the Rock of Ages in it (in a good way, haha!) I wanted the similar pastel palette one they came out with too! What did I wear this snazzy outfit to today, you ask? To to opthamologist! Now back to packing (and sneezing because of all the dust, ugh!)

What We’ve Been Waiting For

Falling asleep to the sound of rain is only my second favorite thing next to waking up to the sound of rain. It’s so soothing I never want to get up! This is the weather I’ve been waiting for! It’s like autumn never showed up and winter came in full force (well, full Los Angeles force… no snow or anything, haha) Time to pull out the chunky scarves and warm cardigans again, yay!

So my boyfriend and I have been planning our 3 month Europe trip and have a general idea of the countries we want to visit, although we are going to have to knock some out. Here’s what we’ve come up with so far: ireland > scotland > england > the netherlands > germany > czech republic > austria > hungary > switzerland > france

I’m so incredibly excited! Does anyone have any suggestions of cities we MUST see or even can skip over? Or even countries?

Painted Skies

You know how sometimes during sunset, when there are a million colors in the sky, it looks like Vincent Van Gogh just rand his paint brush through it? The colored yarn stripes on this sweater remind me of that kind of sky. I also FINALLY have something that matches the cute jeweled collar I have. The jewels match the color of my skirt, a deep burgundy I scattered throughout my entire outfit. =) Oh, and does anyone else like pearly berets like I do? hehe

The Amazing Chocolatier

Can you guess what the title of this outfit refers to? Willy Wonka of course! The colors remind me of him—bright and wacky! I took a vintage sweater that had all these great colors, and I could’ve paired it with with a simple pair of pants… but adding the extra pink chiffon blouse really made the look interesting! Is it jarring? Perhaps. But I think it works!

Just two photos of me without glasses… I get self-conscious without my glasses on so you don’t really see this too often! haha

Vintage Daze

After some pleading and some compromising, my boyfriend has agreed to take my outfit photos in the morning since I can’t do them after work anymore. Take that, daylight savings! Ah, I feel so lucky to have such an understanding bf! =)

So lately I’ve been noticing how nice vintage colors (coral, olive, off-white, etc.) look against this beige wall I always take my pictures in front of. It’s like colors in a cute painting you find in a small mom & pop vintage shop. So I decided to go for a vintage look today. I’ve worn this floral print a bunch but always sort of dressed it up a bit (especially the blazer I have.) I still feel like I scored big time with this three-piece floral set (shirt, blazer, & skirt) that I found at Goodwill for $9.99! Talk about fashion on a budget!

It’s the Little Things

My look on Tuesday:

“Sometimes I have an outfit all planned out but it’s really missing something. I forget about the little things that really make outfits unique. I used to be obsessed with finding small little hair things and jewelry from Etsy. I don’t know why I ever stopped! This flower hair clip has gone through so many great times with me. In fact one time I was approached by a guy. Unfortunately he said “That thing in your hair is weird” instead of “I like the flower in your hair.” But, ah well. The point is, whether it be a unique pair of glasses, a hair clip, or even a cute handmade brooch, sometimes it’s the little things that really make a simple secretary blouse and high-waisted pant outfit (a combo I choose to wear 99% of the time) become special in an unsuspecting way. =)”

Where the Wind Blows

The winds have finally started today and my hair was blowing everywhere with my car windows rolled down. As much as I enjoy a cool breeze, crazy winds definitely equal bad hair days so thankfully being in an office means I can let my hair loose.

I decided to keep it pretty casual today. The trick with casual day wear that look more put together than they actually are is really in the colors. Especially in autumn, greens, yellows, and browns feel so seasonal and fun! But to breakup the solid colored clothing, I added in some stripes and I’m set to go!

Parisian Cat Lady

What is it about cats on a top that make it immediately buyable? Is this only true for me, or for you as well? I love cats! And if I thought about it for a moment, I would assume cats to be the the most fashionable amongst our everyday animals. Wearing the “cat eye” look of course ;)

So lately it’s been magnificent weather! Bright and sunny without the heat! It’s actually incredibly chilly (like real autumn!) So on days like these I like to wear something a little warmer on top (sweaters) and something a little less so on the bottom (shorts with knee high socks.) Oh, and don’t forget the head! Berets are surprisingly warm!
